Travel in Bangkok Thailand with BTS(Sky Train)

Bangkok BTS (Sky Train) map

A quick guide to Bangkok's attractions close to the skytrain.

The skytrain, Bangkok's overhead light railway system, provides a great way to get around many of the major shopping, business and commerical areas around central Bangkok. Finished in 1999, it's a great alternative to sitting in Bangkok's legendary traffic. There are two lines which run through the heart of the main areas and it's punctual. Trains run every 3 - 6 minutes from 6.00-12.00 midnight daily. (Last train around 11:50) Peak hours (7am-9am & 5pm-8pm) trains run every 2 minutes.

Costs 10 - 40 baht, depending on the number of stops. Great deals with unlimited 1/3 day travel passes are available. Just 280 Baht buys a 3 day unlimited travel pass or, if you're planning to stay longer or return to the city later, buy 10 journeys valid at any time, for 250 Baht.

At certain times, special promtions include discount vouchers which can be used at the shopping centres around the skytrain stops. Enqurie at the ticket counter for details.
