The Thilosu Waterfall Tak
The Thilosu Waterfall is considered by many to be the most beautiful waterfall in Southeast Asia. Its height, scenery, and sheer volume of water make the long winding route from Amphoe Mae Sot to Amphoe Umphang well worth the journey.

Location
The Thilosu Waterfall is located 164 kilometers from Mae Sot inside the Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is forty-three kilometers from the town of Umphang.

Thilosu Waterfall
The Thilosu Waterfall: The word Thilosu is Karen meaning big waterfall, which perfectly describes this mammoth of the North. The waterfall is 300 meters high and 500 meters wide. There is a second level you can walk to that offers panoramic views of the valley below.
From Umphang there are two ways to get there; by car or by water. During the month of December to May, automobiles are allowed into the sanctuary. However, during the rest of the year you will have to float down the river to see it.

Rafting
Rafting and Driving: The starting point for you journey can begin at any of the creeks in town which feed the Mae Klong River. Once adrift, you will pass the Thilocho Waterfall, the Takhobi Reef, Pha Phueng, Pha Bong, and the many hot springs in the area. Rafting through this area takes about two hours. Once past, you will then need to drive for seventeen
kilometers to the Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary. From here, you continue on foot for one and four-fifths kilometers to the Waterfall. If rafting isn't your idea of a good time, you can drive the forty-two kilometers to the Wildlife Sanctuary Office in Umphang. Campsites are available inside the Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary.
